Global Village Bank (1997)

Co-founded with Hiromi Amano, the GVB offered one of the earliest web-based currency transaction systems.

Built around an online-only currency known as the Nella, the purpose of the GVB was to offer a way for people to trade services and skills across the web. While there was a small community of users, we never solved the problems of controlled supply, later tackled elegantly by bitcoin.

The site can still be found on Archive.org's Wayback Machine - see for example GVB.org's original home page and its aims and objectives.
